If you are here visiting us on July 14, you do not want to miss the 2012 Big Bear Old Miners Association International Chili Society sanctioned Chili Cook Off and Country Jamboree! From 10:00am to 5:00pm, the appealing aroma of chili will be filling the Convention Center, and making your mouth water.
This event is free to attend, however, if you want to taste all the delicious home cookin’ of these contestants, it is only $3 per person for a tastin’ kit. Wyatt’s Restaurant in the Convention Center will also be open, in case the picky eaters in your family don’t want chili.
Think your chili is the best there is? You can still grab an application to compete! There are 3 categories: Red Chili, Chili Verde, and Homemade Salsa. You never know…you might just win!
“For the young at heart, the Old Miners Association is offering its second annual Carnival with rides and games from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. that day at the same location. Presale tickets for the Carnival are now on sale for $15 weekdays and $25 weekends and special occasions. Once the event begins, tickets will be $25 weekdays and $35 weekends. For tickets, visit www.OldMiners.org and click on the spinning Ferris Wheel.”
Then, to end a fun filled day, see Brent Payne and Dakota in concert at 7:00pm, for only $10 a ticket! In the past, Brent Payne has opened for some big name stars like Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, and Randy Travis.
The day is filled with options that everyone in the family will enjoy!
